Telluride Review Mark Romanek S Never Let Me Go

Telluride Review: Mark Romanek’s Never Let Me Go By Peter Sciretta/Sept. 3, 2010 11:36 pm EST A lot of you probably might not recognize Mark Romanek’s name, but you’ve almost certainly seen his work. He was probably one of the best music video directors to come out of the 1990’s. His videos have included Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”, “Scream” – Michael Jackson’s grammy award winning collaboration with sister Janet Jackson (at $7 million, it might forever hold the title as the most expensive music video ever made), Janet Jackson’s “Got ‘Til It’s Gone”, Johnny Cash’s gut-wrenching cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt”, En Vogue’s “Free Your Mind”, Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way”, Beck’s “Devil’s Haircut”, Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” and Fiona Apple’s “Criminal”....

This Week In Trailers: Hush, A Fighting Chance, The Passing, Too Late, Everything Is Copy By Christopher Stipp/March 20, 2016 10:00 am EST Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: What better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising?...

Tabletop gaming can often make for a cinematic experience when designers aren’t trying to evoke a specific film or genre, which makes a game like Last Friday look all the more intriguing....

‘Tully’ Review: An Astonishing Charlize Theron Performance Anchors One Of The Best Movies Of The Year By Josh Spiegel/May 4, 2018 7:00 am EST Charlize Theron is one of the great living actresses, and Tully is the latest proof. Theron’s ability to fully embody and transform into her characters is already well-documented, from her Oscar-winning work in Monster to the fierce Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. First They Killed My Father – Netflix Angelina Jolie’s adaptation of Cambodian activist Loung Ung’s memoir of the same name was marred with controversy before its release, when ethical concerns were raised about Jolie’s casting tactics. In the punishing heat of an Iowa summer, Rebney’s two-week Winnebago shoot made Rebney extremely irritable, which consequently made the entire video crew miserable.
